This non-discriminatory policy applies to those employed in Vermont day care centers as well, with it being against the law to discriminate against any employee on the basis of race, gender, origin, or due to any other factor. The usual qualification for staff in Vermont day care centers is the CCP or the CDA, which qualifies a holder to be a child care professional. And of course, many higher qualifications apply, such as a degree in child development or a degree in a field closely associated with child care. The ratio of children to staff is on par with the rest of the country, with five toddlers requiring one attendant.
